Don’t you dream of having even just one romantic highlight of your life? The kind that will sweep you off your feet and make you feel all fluffy inside? One night that will make you crack a smile whenever you reminisce the old times?

Well, I do. I’m a sappy romantic so sue me.

I haven’t been in a relationship for long but I am hopelessly waiting that one special moment to happen to me. I don’t care if it’s just for a day, a night, a week, or a month. I could care less if it happens in less than five minutes. What’s important to me is that I get to feel something special, something I’d remember for the rest of my days. Hopefully, I get to achieve it in this lifetime (lol).

Anyway, people have all sorts of ideas when it comes to romance. Some say the magic should happen spontaneously, without assistance. Others say one must work hard for it in order to keep the sparks flying. Whatever the case is, romance is experienced by people in different ways so it’s not like there’s an absolute answer. Spontaneous or not, with or without hard work, love has a way of making things happen at the perfect time and place.

Nonetheless, it still won’t hurt to plan.

I know many will argue with me on this but planned dates are actually pretty good. I know that by planning, couples are killing the elements of surprise but sometimes, it pays to plan – especially when the date is going to last for some time (Check out these tips!). I’m talking about romantic getaways. When you and your hubby both get time off work, isn’t it natural for the both of you to want to vacation together? Even just for a while, getting away from life and experiencing the world with just the two of you seem pretty darn exciting, don’t you think?

If the idea of going on a romantic getaway interests you, then I may just have the perfect list of places you can go to. As I told you a while ago, I’m a romantic. I daydream all the time. Even if it doesn’t happen to me, I’d love it if it could happen to you. Create sweet memories with your loved ones in these overly romantic destinations:

Paris, France

Well, duh. When you think of love and romance, the gorgeous city of love always come to mind. If there is any place that has witnessed innumerable confessions of love, heartbreaks, reconciliations, and even betrayals, it’s got to be Paris.

If you’re a diehard romantic, then taking your significant other to one of the most (if not the most) romantic cities on earth should fit you perfectly. Spend a day touring the city and be inspired by France’s love for fashion and architecture. Walk down the central plaza and have you and your lover’s portraits hand painted to immortalize your time together in Paris. Lastly, invite your love to a romantic supper underneath the world famous Eiffel Tower. You can even take this opportunity to pop the big question! I tell you, nothing feels more romantic than having a glass of champagne on one hand and holding your lover’s hand with the other. Experience centuries of love in the heart of France, Paris!

Venice, Italy

Whether you’re planning to go on a soul-searching trip by yourself or spend a romantic holiday with a significant other, the City of Venice never fails to surprise. The semblance of Italy’s unique and beautiful culture can be reflected in the architectural pursuits of the city. From buildings and bridges to monuments and landmarks, Venice is a place for the romantics at heart.

The sweet gondola ride is a love tradition among Venetian couples and a favorite must-do activity among tourists as well. Imagine riding a gondola with the love of your life, gently rowing through the canals overlooking the city. You share a kiss as you pass down a bridge, staying true to the old ritual that says “A couple who shares a kiss of true love as their gondola passes under a bridge will remain together forever.”

Now, if that doesn’t sound romantic enough for you, then I don’t know what does!

Tokyo, Japan

Japan is such a unique country that you can experience the past and the future at the same time. It blends perfectly and beautifully that when you get there, you wonder if you’re in the right place. Japan is supposed to have very advance technology, right? But, how does it manage to feel so peaceful and nostalgic? Well, it’s because Japan knows how to preserve their historical origins. There are places in Japan that are brimming and bustling with city life but there are also places that let you embrace how Japan felt like before – a perfect reminder for couples that the past, present, and future are all equally important.

But what I believe to be the most romantic scenery in Japan is the sight of their Cherry Blossom Parks in full bloom. If you and your partner are planning a romantic getaway and happen to stop by Japan, make sure to schedule it during spring season (in Japan). The pink petals falling down from the trees everytime the wind rustles through it are breathtaking; it’s a very romantic moment you should not fail to experience with your significant other. In fact, annually, Japan holds a Cherry Blossom viewing day. So, pick yourself up and get off that recliner chair. It’s time to start planning. Why not go with your partner and have a nice toast of wine while enjoying the view?
